Industrial Artifact

These spools and bobbins are a rapidly disappearing item of our industrial heritage. They are worn from many years of spinng and weaving in textile mills in all parts of the world, with the majority coming from the large mills of England and America.

Each one was hand crafted to fit specific machines – a reason for the shape and variety of shapes and sizes. Collectors are really starting to appreciate bobbins as objects of character and interest , from a period of our industrial heritage when true craftsmanship existed.

As supplies of these original treasures rapidly decline, the humble wooden bobbin becomes an increasingly rare and valuable relic.
